My work celebrates the masculinity within my identity. I’m more of a masculine female who has never been free to express my identity due to my surroundings. The spacious landscape that emerge on my work represent the freedom and peace that I’ve been longing for my entire life. The introduction of roses talks about the fragility and the vulnerability that one can find when they are longing for freedom of expression.
My work mainly talks about the history of cameras and it’s also an identity mask representing me as a photographer.
My current series/ work is called AMATHOYIZI OMSHUTI, which means the photographer’s toys.
